Professor Bashir Markhoulvisits and negotiates 4+0 degree education

On 10th September, Professor Bashir Markhoulvisits the International College, and negotiates the cooperative programme of 4 years undergraduate degree (4+0) with us. Professor ZhengTongtao ( Dean of the International College ), Deputy dean Lvzixuan, Director of General Office Huang guanhua,teacher Zengshufanof art department, and programme secretary Chen jianru attended in this important meeting.


In this meeting, Bashir Markhoulclaims that the communication and cooperation between University of Southampton and the International College are successful in recent years, and he hopes “2+2”collaboration programme could be developed further.


The proposal of the scheme of “4+0” collaboration programme is discussed in this meeting, in teaching aspect, the University of Southampton assigns excellent teachers to work long-term at the International College, take responsibility of 1/3 courses, and the teachers of the International College. Teaching methods adopt bilingual teaching (Chinese and English) or full English. This proposal obeys the requirement of basic discipline of QAA, and it refers to the UK standard of art and design major; In students’ recruitment and enrollment aspect, admission score lines of major test and English test are formulated; In equipment aspect, the International College equips with modern teaching equipment, offers professional teaching, library and provides convenient information and communication technology.


In November,the principal of the University of Southampton will visit and inspect our college with Bashir Markhoul, it is expected to sign “4+0” cooperation programmein December.


Since our collaboration from 2008, the whole students have been to study in Winchester School of Art successfully. During the study time in our college, art students got excellent awards in art and design area. 6 students from 2008 whose art work are selected into the 3rd, and 5 students from 2009 and 2010 whose artwork are selected into the fifth  < chinese undergraduate artwork yearbook>
