The result of “The Second National Micro-course Teaching Competition” has been revealed recently, 2 special awards, 20 first prizes, 74 second prizes, 98 third prizes and 385 outstanding awards have been selected out of 613 works of micro-courses in the final round of the competition.

XiamenUniversity stood out again from the intensive competition. In the final round, Prof. Jiao Nianzhi from College of Ocean and Earth Sciences won a special award, Assistant Prof. Hong Bin from Overseas Education College/International College won a second prize, Associate Prof. Sun Chuanwang from School of Economics won a third prize.

In September 2014 fourteen teachers of XiamenUniversity entered the rematch of Fujian province. Prof. Hong Bin and Prof. Sun Chuanwang won the first prizes; associate professor Peng Zhenshan (MedicalCollege) won a second prize; assistant professor Hou Xueliang (School of Life Sciences), assistant professor Wang Zhaoshou (College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering) and associate professor Du Ni (School of Mathematical) won third prizes.

Micro-course is a video which records a short-time teaching with regard to certain knowledge. Despite of a short time, it is full of teaching ideas and design which require excellent teaching ability of the teachers.

XiamenUniversity is always emphasizing on teaching skills of young teachers. The Micro-course competition is a way to encourage them to improve their ability.
