Southampton, a good place to study and live

I think the biggest difference between England universities and domestic universities is that they pay a great attention to your academic research ability, such as Critical Thinking and the Essay Writing skills. I think it is quite difficult for Chinese students which require us to accumulate at ordinary times. Because of the lacking ability, it is hard for me discuss with the local students in the class as you will find they have a lot of creative ideas and broad knowledge scopes. Compared with them, my knowledge scopes are relatively narrow, coupled with language barrier, which makes me feel a little frustrated. But it is ok, take your time and try to improve the critical thinking skills as well as the english. After all, language is the most important.

In general, Southampton is a good place to learn adn the teachers are very knowledgeable, academic and very friendly. Library has a wealth of resources, you do not need to worry about looking for information or materials when you are writing the essays. Classmates are friendly as well, so you can ask them for help if you have any problems. But you have to catch up with their speed in the first two weeks because they speak very fast. Southampton is also a good place to live, especially when the weather is fine.

I have already been here for one month. In the past month, I felt very excited because here is just like a brand new world to me. After arriving in England, I think you must understand what you really want and don't change your mind again. Secondly, you need to be independent and aware that friends may be more important because you cannot rely on your mom and dad anymore. Therefore, you must be united.

Firstly, you have to well prepare you English including listening, speaking, reading and writing skills because it is very important. If you do want to improve you writing, try to make your articles more academic. Secondly, you need to be independent because you have to shop in supermarket and cook yourself. Finally, I want to share something with you about myself. I have been taken my master courses for three weeks and I feel good about it. Although my listening is not excellent enough to understand all the things that are delivered by the teachers, I am still on my way to conquer my english. I have the confidence to overcome all the difficulties. You can do it if I can!
