In the afternoon of September 2^nd, Deputy Party Committee Secretary Wang Yi (presiding), Deputy Party Committee Secretary Wu Weiping, Deputy Director of General Office Dai Yu, counsellors Su De, Jiang Zhenxing, Chen Hanmei, Wu Jing, Wen Congcong, Zhang Feixia, Zou Wenjing and consolation team from the college league visited freshmen on Haiyun Playground.

The freshmen were looking forward to this event with keen anticipation when a heavy rain poured on the parade. The activity was then relocated to Haiyun 2^nd canteen after discussion among leaders and teachers. Good things take time. After waiting in the rain for a while, the activity began with a round of applause and a prologue by Zhang Huichen from the Student Union of the Youth League general branch.

The opening of the show was from Liao Qi who had high scores in singing competitionsof college- and university-level. Her affectionate song “Sky lantern”made the students feelslike being in a tranquil field in the countryside and long for a promising future without remembering the harshness of the training. The next song is “A song written for no one”by Zhu Jianan. The natural performance and beautiful voice won rounds of applause. The most talented one was Chen Jiawei who wrote “Fresher’s song”by himself and amazed all. The song expressed the expectations and wishes from higher graders to the freshmen.

The last two programs pushed the show to a new high. Four beautiful girls from the Sport Dance Association brought a rumba show. Students who were taking photos clustered at the front seats. The members of taekwondo association who staged next surprised all. Even when the floor was slippery and the consolation group tried to cancel their performance, they insisted to show the signature technique – wood plate kicking. Their sincere bow touched the softest spot in our hearts.

  When we came to the International College of Xiamen University where phoenix flowers bloom, we began to dream. When we came to green military camp, we would witness our growth. Our toughness in the training, exposure to scorching sun, runs in the rain and smiles to each other in difficult tests will be beautiful memories. Military training is the first compulsory lesson in university, during which we experience the feelings of “hold the ice in winter and stand next to fire in summer”. We had to overcome our bad mood and painted a nice picture at the first lesson. Only after we experience, can we talk about it.
