The opening ceremony of XMU 7th Freshmen Debate Competition was held in report hall of Zhangzhou campus, sponsored by the group work committee organization of Zhangzhou campus, student union in Zhangzhou branch, students’association union in Zhangzhou branch, organized by academic department of student union in Zhangzhou branch and debate club. Twenty-nine teams from 22 colleges attended this competition.  

This is the first time International College attended this competition, which drew high attention of the teachers and students. The instructors and contestants had simulating exercise for many times to get well-prepared before the competition. Students who attended this competition are from 2010 HND and London programs.

On 21st November, the first day of the competition, our college’s rivals are students majoring in finance from school of management. The debate topic is “Whether the electricity should be cut off in the evening in the dorm?”, and our team’s position is NO. 

After 40 minutes, our team won the first round of the competition and got the qualification for the next round.All of the present students from International College were so proud of them.
