Good News from the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition

The students from International College achieved good results in the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. In the 6th China International College Students’ "Internet+" University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition that ended last month, Xue Qinghao, a 2018 undergraduate student of our college, as a core member of the project "FATRI: Leader in China's MEMS Chip Industry", won the gold medal (2^nd place) with team members; Zheng Xin and Lu Yuxin , 2017 undergraduates from International College participated in the project "Xia Yi Qing Zhi-Precision Medical Volunteer Poverty Alleviation Project", which won the Bronze Award in the 6th China International College Students’ "Internet+" University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. All the achievements fully demonstrated the innovative and entrepreneurial style of Xiamen University’s students in the new era.

The project "Hongluo Biology—The Pioneer of Rapid and Accurate Tumor Auxiliary Diagnosis and Treatment Services" participated by Yan Yulong, a 2019 undergraduate student, won the gold medal of the 6th Fujian Province "Internet +" University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. The innovation and entrepreneurship team project "Mangrove Public Welfare Education" by 2017 undergraduate Wang Xiyue's won the Bronze Award of the 6th Fujian Province "Internet +" University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and the Gold Award of the 6th Xiamen University "Internet +" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.

In addition, our college has four other projects that won the Bronze Award of the 6th Xiamen University "Internet +" Undergraduate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. Stimulate Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The college integrates innovation and entrepreneurship education into the whole process of undergraduate training, and strives to create a second classroom of innovative practice, through curriculum reforms, innovation and entrepreneurship training programs, high-level discipline competitions inside and outside the college social practice, innovative practice platforms, and inviting innovation and entrepreneurship experts to guide, etc., using a variety of ways to cultivate the soil for students' innovation and entrepreneurship, improve students' innovative awareness and ability, and comprehensively improve the quality of talent training.

In 2020, 29 college students' innovation and entrepreneurship training programs have been approved, including 5 national-level, 11 provincial-level, 3 school-level, and 10 college-level projects. The number of national and provincial-level projects is the highest in history. All the 2020 graduates will receive innovation credits, and the innovation credits will be fully covered.

At the 4th Xiamen University Undergraduate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Annual Conference this year, the faculty and students of the International College's DBS Program won multiple awards, the largest number of awards in history. Teacher Hong Bin was selected as the outstanding instructor of Xiamen University's 2019 Undergraduate Science & Innovation Competition; the project "Three-dimensional Public Welfare Teaching Platform for Rural Primary and Middle School Students" led by Wang Xiyue, a class of 2017 undergraduate student, won three awards, including the best creative project, my favorite project and excellent big innovation project.

As the first author, Li Qihan, a 2016 undergraduate, published a paper entitled "Difficulties in Corporate Financing under Structural Changes in Credit Policies-based on The Perspective of the Credit Rate of Enterprises in Developed Private Economic Areas” in the Journal of Nanjing University (Philosophy, Humanities and Social Sciences)", a core journal of Xiamen University and won the first prize of Xiamen University's 2019 Outstanding Paper Award for Undergraduates; Three major projects under the guidance of the instructor Cai Qingyun: Juhui.Com-Providing Students With The Highest Discount E-Commerce Platform (2016 undergraduate student Dong Yifan is responsible), "One-Stop Shopping Mall" Layout Optimization Design-Python Visual Simulation (2017 Undergraduate Lin Yudong is responsible), and the research on the Construction of The Campus Information Platform For College Students' Hometown Specialties (2017 undergraduate Jin Jiaqi is responsible) was rated as an outstanding large-scale project.

Under the guidance of the school's continuous deepening of innovation and entrepreneurship education reform, our college takes innovation and entrepreneurship work as an important starting point, combines the construction of students’ study style with innovation and entrepreneurship education, and combines the improvement of teaching mode with students’ innovation and entrepreneurship, and is committed to improving the college's talent quality and promote the all-round development of students.
