The Open Day and International Education Experience Day was held on 14th June by International College. A large amount of interested students and parents all over the country were attracted by this event.

During the event, all the visited students and parents took a field investigation of the excellent teaching conditions and advanced teaching facilities, participated the presentation of International Education Study Abroad project and project briefing meeting, and they also had a face-to-face communication with the teachers from different majors which helped them had a more comprehensive understanding of our courses design and teaching characteristics, and made them really experienced the campus culture and academic atmosphere.

Understand the international education systematically

As one of the key parts of Open Day, the presentation of International Education project was held in the lecture hall on the first floor of Kunluan Building, and the vice-dean Lv Zixuan delivered a welcome speech. Mr. Lv said that as a college directly under the ministry of Xiamen University, International College is the only one college specialized in international education, which provides a direct, economic and reliable channel for those who want to study abroad.

During the presentation, admission office staff Ms Chen Jianru systematically introduced the college-running characteristic, student’s cultivation feature and education pattern of each project, and she also invited some former graduates and undergraduate to share their learning, living, working experience with all the guests.

Vivid demonstration of each project

International College has a group of teachers with rich teaching experience, including the excellent teachers from overseas famous colleges and universities, such as Purdue University, London School of Economics and Political Science, which create international learning environment for the students.

After the presentation, teachers from different majors introduced the courses design and study plans of each project for the students and parents respectively, and answered their questions. Furthermore, the teachers also invited all the guests to the classrooms, studios and multi-media classrooms. Let them have a better understanding of our teaching achievement by visiting students’ art design works and graduation design.

Consulting service on two campus

On Open Day, the students and parents can not only got the relevant information on Xiangan Campus, but also on Siming Campus. In addition, in order to provide more meticulous service, the college organized the undergraduates to offer guidance and show the direction for the guests. And all the guests were invited to visit the teaching area, living area and gym etc and finally dining at the canteen.

One parent from Zhejiang province said that by this Open Day he understood the unique college-running pattern of International College, which provided flexible and diverse choices for the students and it was the real meaning of international education.
